Journey to the Overworld part 10

“Wha…….” Ant looked at Sky with confusion on his face.

“Why Ant?,” Sky held his amulet, the normal shining metal faded to a dull powerless material. “I don’t want to go back there,” a single tear rolled down his face.

“What do you mean “back there”?” Ant asked. Sky sighed and tiredly got up.
“I better tell you the truth, I…..” he paused unable to tell Ant who he actually was, “I am Herobrine’s son; just like Sparklez, I lived in the nether with them. We are actually a happen family. But I wanted more, I was tired of the nether and I ventured out into the overworld, and loved every moment of it. I wanted to stay there forever and never go back to that hell whole, but I new I couldn’t stay up there. But one day in the overworld, I…I…I… Saw this girl, she was beautiful in everyway, I loved her so much, more then anyone could imagine. Then I thought it was the right time so I asked her to marry me, she said yes. We had a very happy life up here. But one day I stupidly told her about my family. Then she insisted on meeting them. So I took her to the nether….” Sky stopped, more tears running down his face. “That was the worst decision I every made because as soon as we got to the house, Herobrine….he…”

“He didn’t!” Ant said shocked, he covered his mouth with his hand.
Sky nodded his head slowly.

“He killed her, right there, in front of Sparklez; in front of Kitty; in front of me. He said it was because she took me away from my home, away from him. I was absolutely heartbroken; I just wanted to kill Herobrine for that. But I didn’t. I just ran away, came to the overworld and never went back. I build the castle in memory of her and built up an army to fight the enemies in the world. I am sworn to hate all nether creatures because I am scared it is going to happen again, or to another recruit or friend. I crafted the amulets to keep me here, to keep me sane, I gave you the other one because you were my loyal friend and I knew that you wouldn’t go against me. But now the bond has broken between them and Herobrine can take over…I don’t want anything like this to happen to any of my loyal recruits so I am not letting any nether beast into the overworld or any squids for that matter!”

“But Sky in your efforts to do this you have preformed the same deed yourself.” Ant explained.
“What do you mean?” Sky asked reluctantly.    
“You left one of your own recruits heartbroken by killing her boyfriend and you have left Sparklez to die. Just because he isn’t part of this world doesn’t mean he hasn’t got feelings, he feels the same feelings you and I do. I feel like how you felt when Herobrine killed her, but worst because you were my best friend. I though, if anyone, you would support me but you didn’t!” Ant wept.

“But he was going to kill you!” Sky argued.

Ant shook his head. “He wasn’t Sky, he is your brother, why are you turning on him. He has done nothing wrong and you know it. He is the sweetest, kindest person I have met. He would never hurt anyone. Did he ever try and fight back with you?”

Sky looked at the floor, “No he didn’t.”

“So there, I love him Sky, just as much as you loved her. When I saw him in the overworld, I was the happiest person alive, I wanted to stay with him forever but you had to ruin it! You almost killed him Sky and I can never forgive you for that!” Ant knelt down on the floor and cried in his hands.

“Ant I….” Sky tried to talk to him but was cut off.

“yeah you were only protecting me blah blah I have heard it a million times before, but I didn’t need protecting! I could just kill you for what you did!”

“No, I was going to say that you are right, I shouldn’t have done that. Dylan and Sparklez didn’t deserve to die just like Dawn didn’t. So go ahead kill me a deserve it….” Sky finished before kneeling down in front of Ant and closing his eyes. “Just make it quick.”

Ant knew he had to do this for Sparklez’s sake. So he raised the sword above Sky’s head. He swung it and it was only centimetres away from his face but then his froze unable to move the sword the last for centimetres. Memories came flooding back into his head. His mind filled with flashbacks.

-Flashback-

1) “I proudly proclaim AntVenom our lead fighter for the army for being so skilled in the art and for being the best friend I could ever have!” Sky’s voice echoed through Ant’s head, from when Sky promoted him to head fighter.
2) “Sky don’t die on me man, I can’t win this war without you!” Ant tears filled his brain from when the army fought the squids.
3) “Ant take this and keep it safe,” Sky handed the amulet to Ant.
4) “I will keep this kingdom protected from all evil beings! I will risk my life to keep its recruits safe!” Ant remembered the speech he gave to the army.
5) “Ant you are the best, thanks for always being there.”

Sky had always been his best friend through everything, the wars, the problems, the good times and the bad. They had always been together, a team no one could split apart. Now that was all about to change in a matter of centimetres. He would have killed Sky, in a matter of seconds he would have been dead. Ant shook his head, trying to get the horrible though out of his head. He lowed his sword. He couldn’t do it. He couldn’t kill Sky, not after how much they have been through.
